Matt Storch & The Usual Suspects
Phases The Debut CD

Phases is a project that started the day I bought my first guitar and is still ongoing . Over the past 15 plus years my musical tastes and influences have changed as much as I have. I have met and played with many different people, all of which have inspired my music to take different directions. For these reasons the title of the CD is quite fitting, as it highlights many different phases of my life.
My songwriting style incorporates fictional characters as well as real life stories. Songs like "Die or Be Free" and "Son Of A Gambler" open a window into my world of make believe people doing make believe things. On the other hand songs like "Superiors Best" and "The Other Me" are taken directly from true life experiences. One of my favourite styles of storytelling is illustrated in songs like "How Long Was I Out" and "Chapter Two", these are songs with a more obscure story line and are more open to your own personal interpretation. The tracks that you will hear have been recorded in different "phases" of home studios and span a time frame beginning in the early nineties to today. I am currently working in a professional studio environment and will be updating these songs as they become available. Stay Tuned !!!

Thanks

As with almost everything in life, the major things that we accomplish are very rarely the result of a solo effort. These phases of my life are no exception. I would like to thank the many people who have been a part of these songs over the years. Many of them were written with the help of friends like Bill Ireland and Jim Young. Musicians who have contibuted tracks to these songs include Bill and Jim, Mark Agnew, Craig Deekon and Steady Eddy. My musical direction would not be the same without all the people I've shared a speaker with over the years.

Thanks to all of my friends, family and showgoers for listening ! Be patient, the finished product is on the way.
